The group has survived the Wildfire virus outbreak on the Pinnacle cruise ship, got rescued by Epic Sector 2's Harbour Patrol and are now on an unsanctioned quest to get out of the city and head to Jeb's father's ranch outside of Las Vegas... but that means crossing The Barrens with its radioactive craters, mutant creatures and isolated communities taking out a hard living in the post WW3 wastelands.
